|E-learning Centre: an electronic application
One of the most basic issues faced by corporations today is the necessity of constant staff qualifications development.
On one hand, it is a constant process increasing corporate knowledge level every day, on the other it is a time and cost consuming process.
Delegating staff to training courses often based far away from the company site means not only business trip and training costs but also costs resulting from staff absence in the company’s business location.
The solution for this issue is to use electronic learning.
The application we provide faces these needs by enabling electronic collection, storing, and distribution of knowledge in form of training sessions and courses, and organising tests to verify the efficiency of e-learning processes.
The main objective of this application is to enable knowledge collection and organising training for selected employees.
The application supports efficient management and organisation of staff qualification development process by providing staff with electronic learning opportunities.
Each employee can be trained using the mechanisms incorporated in this application tool and the knowledge gained can be verified and assessed automatically or manually by a designated employee.
Staff can also consult the trainer of each course by asking questions or on-line contact using a supplementary tool: Sametime.
An important part of the application is the function of developing a training resource database.
This database can be used to organise and supply multiple training courses.
The incorporated mechanisms of testing valuation and reporting helps to reduce training staff efforts to minimum.
Another vital feature worth pointing is the simple user web-operating interface allowing to use the application on any PC across the company at no additional fees whatsoever!
This application tool provides the following functions:
Training resource database, comprising of:
training materials: scripts created in a comfortable and uniform environment of Lotus Notes,
Training course database, storing information on currently run training courses/sessions; with each training containing the following attributes:
tests: sets of questions, multiple choice or descriptive, each test having individual assessment criteria,
participants: list of participating users based on Lotus Domino/Notes address book,
trainers: list of users mastered in some area to which queries from participants are addressed during a training course.
Test result database storing data on test results per each participant of any training course/session.
Completed training course database storing history data of all training courses/sessions of each participant.
The e-learning application has got three different interfaces:
Lotus Notes for application administrator, to manage application,
Lotus Notes for training administrators responsible for preparing:
Web-operated end user interface for trainees.
groups of trainees.
SYSTEM AND HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS: consistent with requirements of Lotus Notes/Domino R6.01 release or higher, operation enabled using a web browser
